S o you run a small business and have pretty much tapped out your market in your town or you just don’t know how to expand, maybe don’t have the money to expand. Well don’t worry there’s and easy solution, E-Commerce!

E-Commerce is by far the cheapest option you can use to run your business and is just the most scalable option you have. When you get stuck in a rut in your retail business you’re kind of just screwed if I’m being completely honest, but when you get stuck with E-Commerce you have SEO, content marketing, ads, and much more!

I will go into the biggest benefits here but just know none of this is easy to implement. As someone who runs an E-Commerce platform you will spend countless hours optimizing your platform but it scales like crazy and will just plain lead to massive results the more hours you spend.

Shake the Local Chains

If you are a local business you need to get out of your local niche, let’s say you are a nail salon and you operate in Atlanta, Georgia. You need to expand yourself beyond Atlanta if you are ever going to be anything to talk about and the way to do this is E-Commerce. Without E-Commerce you are simply going to be powerless when it comes to marketing and you cut your audience by a small amount like just about 7,500,000,000 people.

What do I mean by this? Well, let us use an example shall we? If I am using Google Ads and social media marketing to further my reach but I only operate my nail salon in Atlanta, I am only reach a MAX of 488,800 people because I have to cut my Google Ads location to just Atlanta and nowhere else and my social media account are useless because I am so local. However, if we add an E-Commerce Nail Kit to sell on our website across the world, now we have access to the entire rest of the population of the earth. Suddenly your Ads will have huge reach and your social media will take off. I cannot express enough the need to get out of your local niche

10x Less Expensive

Having a local business can be expensive, you know this as you spend thousands of dollars on your office location and miscellaneous expenses. There is a better way though, can you guess it? That’s right E-Commerce is the answer once again. E-Commerce can be expensive but it only gets to that point when you scale to the point where you are making massive margins.

Let’s use Shopify as an example; Shopify will let you create an E-Commerce store for 36$ a month and take care of payments, shipping, and all software needed. Your office space probably cost 100X that per month and gets you not even a quarter of the reach. There are plenty of software programs out there to help with this too and further your reach to the point where you start making millions not hundreds of thousands from your local business.

Marketplaces

Alright so you had to see this one coming, but that is for a good reason. Marketplaces are even cheaper in some ways than Shopify. Now it will be more expensive the more you sell but if you don’t want to have even one penny invested till you prove your model you can just list on Amazon or Ventrity and get access to millions of people for zero money. Can your business boast that?

Marketplaces also provide a model where they take care of most of the work for you as they want you to sell as easy as possible so they get commission. They will also provide shipping and payment services plus they will do most of the marketing so that you don’t even have to spend money on ads. Long story short you cannot go wrong with a marketplace as long as you’re not paying a huge monthly fee which usually jus t doesn’t happen.

I hope this helped you guys and that you got an understanding of one of the most powerful tools at your disposal. If you liked what you read give us a look on Ventrity!
